Working Group of Political and Security Matters Selected Three Topics for the Upcoming 27th Annual Meeting of APPF

H.E. Hun Many, Chairman of the Working Group of Political and Security matters of the 27th Annual Meeting, chaired a meeting to discuss and select topics, which Cambodian Parliament will host in Siem Reap on January, 2019.

This meeting was held in the morning of 12 June 2018 at the National Assembly Palace and attended by MPs, Senators, and other staff official of national APPF’s secretariat.

There have been three topics selected in this meeting, and those will be submitted to high level leaders for further consideration before submitting to the Executive Committee of APPF.

Those three topics are:

1.     “Enhancing Trust for Peace and Security and Sustainable Development in the Region”

2.     “Combating Terrorism and Transnational Crimes in the Region”

3.     “Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation in Promoting the Responsible use Cyberspace use of Social Progress”

H.E. Hun Many continued saying to the participants in today’s meeting that as a host country, we aim to hold the meeting smoothly reaching a joint-communiqué at the end. Therefore, choosing the topics should be consistent to the needs and interests of all APPF member countries, thus the participating APPF members will share their ideas as well as experiences actively achieving a fruitful success at the end.

H.E. Hun Many thanked to all today’s participants in sharing ideas and perspectives, reaching decision on those three topics. He requested the Working Group of national APPF’s secretariat to continue study on related documents in order to compose an aid-memoire for Cambodian Delegations to join the 27th Annual Meeting of APPF in the near future.
