Cambodian Parliament Has started to Discussed the Topics in Economy and Trade Matters

In the name of host parliament for the 27th Annual Meeting of APPF early 2019, Cambodian Parliament, in the morning 13 June, 2018, held a meeting within the Working Group of Economy and Trade matters in order to select the topics in this matters for the upcoming 27th Annual Meeting of APPF.

This meeting discussed on four topics researched and proposed by General Department of Legislation and Research of Secretariat General of the National Assembly and two other topics proposed by H.E. LENG PENGLONG, Secretary General of the National Assembly.

The meeting led by Senator Chhuon Leng, Chairman of the Working Group of Economy and Trade of the 27th Annual Meeting. H.E. Secretary General requested the meeting to raise the topics which has common ground which would not affect to any APPF members.

Having discussed thoroughly, the meeting comprised of many stakeholders including MPs, staff members of Cambodian APPF Secretariat, experts from Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of Commerce, decided to choose three topics to be submitted to high level leader for decision and submission to the 27th Annual Meeting of APPF.

The three topics are as follow:

1.     “Enhancing Cooperation among Member States to Harmonize Legislation for Trade Liberalization and
        Inclusive Growth”

2.     “Promoting Joint Efforts to Build Free Trade Area of Asia-Pacific

                   (FTAAP)

3.     “Promoting Financial Access and Vocational Training Policy for

Small-Medium Enterprises to Achieve Regional Prosperity and Progress”

As noted, although the decision to adopt the above three topics, the Technical Working Group reviews the words and content in both Khmer and English, and the matters will have a series of meetings to review the overall content of these three topics.
