Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN Holds a Discussion with Vietnamese National Assembly President 1/15/2019 7:21:25 PM 15 January 2019 Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN, President of the National Assembly and President of the APPF-27, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at Sokha Siem Reap Resort and Convention Center in the afternoon of 15 January 2019 on the occasion of the Vietnamese guest’s participation in the APPF-27. In the meeting, Samdech president informed his Vietnamese counterpart that the great presence of the high-level Vietnamese parliamentary delegation in the ancient city of Siem Reap to attend the APPF-27 has not only provided a great honor for the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, but a huge contribution to the further strengthening of the ties of traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two neighboring countries, Cambodia and Vietnam, stressing that the gracious presence of H.E. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and delegation in the annual meeting will sure contribute to the success of this forum that meets our expectation. On response, Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, lauded the Cambodian side for the smooth organization of the APPF-27 in a meaningful and friendship atmosphere as all participating delegates highly evaluated the Cambodia’s warm hospitality accorded to the delegations. She added that the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will be participating in all APPF activities from the beginning until the conclusion. The Vietnamese side also pledged continued cooperation and to provide more assistance to the National Assembly of Cambodia in stepping up the construction of the administrative buildings of the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly, along with organizing technical trainings for the secretariat’s staff members. Lastly, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN, President of the National Assembly and President of the APPF-27, took the opportunity to extend his profound thanks to the state, party, government and the brotherly people of Vietnam for always supporting Cambodia in all circumstances, especially for helping liberating the Cambodian people from the genocidal regime Pol Pot, preventing the reoccurrence of this brutal regime and contributing to seeking peace and national reconciliation, reconstruction and development to what it is today.
