Vice-Chairwoman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Praises the Meeting of Women Parliamentarians of the APPF-27 1/18/2019 2:33:54 AM Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the APPF-27 granted a courtesy call to H.E. Olga Epifanova,Vice-Chairwoman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, who led a Russian delegation to attend the 27th Annual Meeting of the APPF, at Sokha Siem Reap Resort and Convention Center in the morning of 16 January 2019. During the courtesy call, H.E. Olga Epifanova expressed her profound thanks to the Cambodian parliament for electing her to co-chair the important Meeting of Women Parliamentarians. She also informed the Cambodian National Assembly president that the substance of the Meeting of Women Parliamentarians is very central in strengthening the roles of women in the contribution to peace and social construction. She also stressed that during her participation the APPF-27 event, the Russian parliamentary delegation also held a meeting with Cambodian women parliamentarians to expand cooperation. The Russian side requested the president of the National Assembly to enhance the relations between the peoples of the two countries, especially among Cambodian and Russian the youth. In response, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei HENG SAMRIN expressed his great pleasure in welcoming H.E. Olga Epifanova and Russian delegation to Cambodia to visit the Kingdom and attend the APPF-27. The presence of the high-level delegation from the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in the event has provide an excellent opportunity to further deepen the traditional ties of friendship and good cooperation between the two legislative bodies, Cambodia and Russia, the APPF-27 president, continued. Samdech President regards Russia an old good friend and neighbor of Cambodia in all circumstances. Russian has helped Cambodia since 1980 to date. In order to further bolster the cooperation between the two legislative bodies, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is scheduled to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia this year.
